The Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit design supports a maximum resistance of 5200 ohms under all supported operating environments. This is intended to be compatible with a typical wired home alarm install, which commonly use 4700 ohms, 1000 ohms or 2000 ohms end of line resistors. Note that the amount of wire used in most wired home alarm installs does not add a significant amount of resistance. (for example: 500’ of wire adds about 12 ohms of resistance.) Setup requirements
