Some cameras have a bunch of options but the software does seem to have pan and zoom IF the camera has that option. Original camera's don't. yes, this cameras can provide date and time stamp. pls don't worry about that. Yes, you can view all of the cameras from a smartphone with the app. You can also control how long the video clips are, and turn cameras off/on remotely. Yes. You can record and store videos normally, and the camera system can perform motion detection, but remote access is not possible. What is maximum range from the camera to the receiver? I have the furthest camera 30 feet away and it works well. The images are crystal clear. I didn't try any further. However I do have receiver trouble. Appx every 2 weeks it stops processing camera input and I have to unplug it for a reboot. With my android phone I use an app called IP Pro. On my Mac I use an app called EseeCloud.
